Welcome to Tir Tairngire
The Land of Promise
So we bet you're wondering how we came up with the name Tir Tairngire for our website, right?
Basically, it started out when we were living down in Portland, OR, and had bought our first 3 rats. We were trying to think up a name for our little [then non-breeding] rattery. Jenn suggested Tir Tairngire, and AJ liked it, so we went for it.
Tir Tairngire is the name of the Elven land in the Shadowrun RPG, and means Land of Promise. The capitol of Tir Tairngire is Portland. Getting how we came up with the idea now? *g*
Granted, we live in Seattle, WA, now, but we've used Tir Tairngire for so many things over the years that it just seemed completely appropriate for our website. Besides, the whole concept of a land of promise is very reassuring and calming in many ways.
Within these pages, you'll find a variety of things that we feel are important to our lives. Among these are:
- Nuwisha in Portland .. A few years back, an article was run in the Portland paper about a coyote on the city lightrail. We found it amusing mainly because a friend of ours has played a nuwisha, or coyote shifter, in the past..
- Barrùil Caraid Rattery .. This is the site for our rattery. We've gone thru a couple of 'administrative' changes and we're no longer actively breeding, but we still like keeping the information up for people to see.
- Dark Avalon .. This is AJ's personal site, which includes information on pretty much anything about her that you'd like to know... And if it's not there, I'm sure she can be persuaded in some way or another to answer any questions you might have...
- AJ's VU Pages .. This is where AJ houses all the lessons from her various Virtual University courses.
- AJ's Icons .. This is where all of the icons AJ's made are housed. Check it out and see what's new...
- SoCal 2007 Trip .. This is where we've posted the report and [eventually] pictures from our trip to Southern California in January & February 2007.
We hope you like the site and the information you find here. Please feel free to email us with any thoughts, questions, or suggestions you may have.
